Global Health Courses

The Diploma Courses on Global Health are organised by an international network of public health oriented organisations in Chile, Finland, the Philippines, and Tanzania.

The aim of this collaboration is to train medical, dental and veterinary doctors and students in global public health issues, such as health care delivery systems, health economics, infectious and non-infectious diseases epidemiology and health care management. The network also provides opportunities for institutional capacity building, teachers' exchange and research projects.

To date some 200 health students and doctors have participated in the course, which has been arranged in Finland six times during 2001-2009. The 8th course was arranged in the Philippines in August 2009.

This Global Health collaboration is funded by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Department of Development Policy) and participating Finnish organisations. Click Organisers and funding on the panel in the left for more information.

In 2010 there will be two GH courses:

• one with a 2,5 week theoretical part in Finland and 1,5-2 practical weeks either in Chile, Finland, Nepal, the Philippines or Tanzania,

• a four week course in Tanzania.

Applications are accepted now for both courses, application deadline is December 11, 2009. See more on upcoming courses page.
